Saint Kentigern College
The Project
In mid 2020 construction began on 2 large complex's for Saint Kentigern College in Shore Road, Remuera, Auckland. This large project is being managed by Aspec Construction, and is due for completion in time for start of term 2022. It will house a Boys' Y7/8 block and a Girls' Y7/8 block. These buildings will be state of the art, bright and airy buildings spread across two floors with a light-filled atrium and a ‘social staircase’ connecting the two. The staircase doubles as access between floors and a lecture-style teaching space.
Affordable Group
Aspec construction chose Affordable Group to supply scaffolding and shrink wrap for this project. Over 2500 sqm of scaffold was constructed, that included stairway access to every elevation and scrim and shrink wrap on the exterior of the construction. Rubbish shoot exteriors were lined with plywood so that rubbish could be dropped safely and tidily down the shoots from any height.
Affordable Group also built birdcage structures in several indoor areas to provide safe height access.
