The Project
The Housing New Zealand site at 39-45 Atkinson Avenue, Otahuhu was purchased by Housing New Zealand for development under Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities. Apartments are being built to match demand, while making the best use of the land, and meeting the needs of today’s tenants. On this site Housing New Zealand is planning to build 83 new apartments. Building these apartments makes the most of the 4083m2 site and will enable Housing New Zealand to better meet demand for social housing in the area.

Affordable Group
Kalmar chose Affordable Group to supply scaffolding and shrink wrap for this project. The biggest challenge for AG was the need to put a large amount of scaffolding up quickly at the beginning of the project, and for the scaffolding to be removed in a timely manner towards the end of the project in November 2020.
Senior Project Manager, Dave Gulland, gave us his feedback on the project:
"I have been involved with several projects where Affordable has provided the scaffolding and I have always found them more responsive and accommodating than most of their competitors. On my current project they have performed extremely well, providing exactly what we asked for, for the price that was agreed, and within the very tight time frames required.
